Municipal Network

A launchpad for change

Code for Canada’s Municipal Network gives government innovators in cities and towns across the country the skills and connections they need to use technology and design to benefit local residents and businesses. Through a series of staff workshops and community engagement activities designed to build bridges between residents and government, we’re giving changemakers the tools they need to make an impact.

Municipal Network features

Stakeholder engagement

An active civic tech community is a municipality’s best ally in delivering and testing meaningful digital services. Code for Canada engages local stakeholders, including tech companies, entrepreneurs, community groups, nonprofits and educational institutions to grow the local civic tech movement across Canada.

In-person professional development

Code for Canada offers hands-on, interactive workshops to familiarize municipal staff with digital government and civic technology and identify opportunities to use those tools in their own work.

A nationwide community of practice

Too often, government innovators feel isolated, without a network of collaborators working on comparable projects. Code for Canada’s municipal network connects leaders from partner municipalities to share inspiration and resources, and to develop best practices.
