UX/QA Specialist (Society for Canadian Women in Science & Technology)

SCWIST is seeking a UX/QA Specialist with a strong focus on accessibility and inclusive design to ensure our digital products deliver exceptional experiences for all users. This role will drive the implementation of inclusive design practices, working closely with developers, designers, and stakeholders to create seamless, user-friendly, and accessible experiences. The UX/QA Specialist will conduct rigorous testing, provide feedback on usability and accessibility, and ensure compliance with accessibility standards such as WCAG.

  • Conducts research, analysis, development, testing and implementation of changes to the department/agency's software solutions and services. 
  • Designs, develops, tests, implements and maintains software solutions on various technology platforms and supports quality assurance activities including building in automated responses to recover from deployment errors. 
  • Participates in the selection, installation, configuration, testing and development of software tools and ensures adherence to the department/agency's programming, testing and development standards.

Technical Advisor, UX Practitioner (Treasury Board Secretariat)

  • Provides specialized technical advice, support and guidance to management, technical staff, program specialists and clients in the planning, design, development, testing, implementation, integration and maintenance of software solutions and services.
  • Develops and supports work processes and standards used for software solutions and services; prepares technical reports for the development of research papers, IT strategies and plans, to advance the departmental/agency software solutions and services.
  • Consults with suppliers to investigate new technology, leads research and development, and studies best practices and current trends in software solutions.
