Choose a challenge and complete our simple volunteer sign-up form to express your interest in contributing.
We’ll ask you to share your skill set and experience level to help us ensure the best match.
You’ll get a response typically within 1-2 weeks, depending on the challenge timeline
Meet and greet
If your skills match the challenge criteria, someone will reach out to confirm your interest and make space for any questions you might have.
Decisions on the finalized candidates for the challenge should typically take 1-2 weeks, depending on the organization's timeline.

Once you've been selected for a challenge, you’ll collaborate with the organization to confirm the scope, set goals, and kick-off the work!
Challenges are intended to be scoped in 8-12 week phases, but will vary based on need.
Support and wrap-up
Civic Tech Marketplace team members on available for ad hoc support and guidance around key milestones. Meanwhile, all challenge details are documented to aid transition (if relevant), solution sustainability, and celebration through storytelling!
